Ruger Whaley

January 29, 2011 to December 29, 2023

The best, most loyal, lovable Yellow Labrador Retriever.

Ruger was born into our lives by Cabela and Winchester.   Hunter and Ruger chose each other and we had no chance of ever separating the two of them.  When he was little we almost lost him to coccidiosis, then he was bit and shaken by a hunting dog who was protecting her pups, and he had to have his upper palate of his mouth reattached and never got all his adult teeth in.

Ruger loved Hunter more than anything, but also loved to swim, play ball, and cuddle with anyone that would hold him.   He loved to go for car rides, and was a busy body, he was either wide open or sleeping.  He hated to have his picture taken and as soon as he knew what you were up to would run to his kennel and hide.  He loved his kennel, it was his safe place, we never locked him up, but that's where he would hang out a lot.

Ruger has had rough times since he was diagnosed in March with Laryngeal Paralysis. 

Ruger will be joining his parents Cabela and Winchester and some other siblings.

He is leaving behind his family Hunter, Melanie, Jonathan, and adopted siblings Copper and Rufas, along with his farm family and other friends.

We are sure Ruger is happy to be with Winchester and Cabela again.  He is no longer struggling to breathe.   He took his last breath in the comfort of his home in the arms of loved ones.   He will always be in our hearts and missed very much.    We miss them all everyday.

We love you Rugie Rue, give your mom and dad hugs from us.  We will all be together again one day.
